Terms of use
PoolSteward is a **free matching service** for people who already own a pool. We help you connect with licensed, insured pool service pros for maintenance, repairs, and other pool care, but **we are not the company doing the work**.
What this site is for
PoolSteward helps US pool owners find local pros for the ongoing care of an existing pool. That can include weekly cleaning, water testing and balancing, equipment repair, leak detection, resurfacing, seasonal openings and closings, and safety-related upgrades.
We do not build new pools, perform pool work ourselves, or act as your contractor. We do not send our own crews, store your chemicals, pull permits, or supervise a job site.
If you use this site, you agree to use it for lawful, honest requests related to pool service for a pool you already own or manage. Please do not submit false information, someone else's contact details without permission, or requests unrelated to pool care.
If you want to start comparing options, use get matched. If you want background first, see our pool services overview.
How matching works
PoolSteward is free to pool owners. Participating pros pay a flat fee to be considered for customer requests.
Here is the basic process:
- You share basic project and contact details, such as your pool type, the issue you are dealing with, your ZIP code, and how a pro can reach you.
- We use that information to try to match you with pool service companies that may serve your area and project type.
- A matched pro may contact you to inspect the pool, discuss the work, and provide pricing and scope.
- You decide who to talk to, who to hire, and whether to move forward at all.
A match is not a guarantee that a pro is available, interested, or the right fit for your job. It is also not a quote, bid, warranty, or promise of results. Any price you see on this site is only a typical range or estimate. Real cost depends on the pool's size and condition, the equipment, the scope of work, and your area. For example, weekly maintenance often runs about $30-$90 per visit or $100-$350 per month, while larger repairs can vary much more. See typical ranges on our costs page.
Important limits: no professional advice
The information on PoolSteward is general education only. It is not pool service, chemical-safety, electrical, plumbing, construction, code, or legal advice.
That matters because pool work can involve real risk. Water chemistry can injure people or damage equipment. Electrical and gas equipment can be dangerous. Leak and structural problems can get worse if guessed at.
Please keep these limits in mind:
- We are not a pool service company. We do not clean pools, repair equipment, or diagnose site-specific problems.
- We are not your contractor. Any agreement for work is between you and the company you hire.
- General guides are not job instructions. For example, our pool safety basics and water-care articles are meant to help you ask better questions, not replace qualified on-site judgment.
- Safety comes first. Drowning is fast and silent. Never leave a child unattended near water. Use layers of protection such as fences, self-closing gates, alarms, covers, and active supervision. Follow local safety and building codes.
- Chemicals require care. Store them safely, never mix chemicals, and follow label directions. Many owners prefer a qualified pro because dosing and handling are often safer when done correctly on site.
If you think there is an urgent safety problem, shut off access to the pool area if you can do so safely and contact a qualified local professional or emergency services as appropriate.
Your responsibility when hiring a pro
PoolSteward can help you find companies to talk to, but you must do your own screening before hiring anyone.
At a minimum, we strongly recommend that you:
- Hire licensed and insured pool pros when your state or local rules require it.
- Verify the license and insurance yourself. Do not rely only on a verbal claim.
- Ask for the scope of work and total price in writing before paying a deposit.
- Compare more than one option when possible.
- Hold final payment until the agreed work is completed.
A simple way to protect yourself is to ask: What exactly is included? What parts and labor are covered? Who handles permits if a permit is needed? What is excluded? Our guide to vetting a pool service company can help you ask the right questions.
Privacy, contact, and acceptable use
To use the matching service, you may be asked for pool and contact details such as your name, phone number, email, address or ZIP code, and basic information about the pool or problem. Please provide accurate information so a pro can contact you about your request.
Do not send sensitive financial or identity information through this site, including bank account numbers, credit card details, or Social Security numbers.
By using the site, you agree not to:
- misuse forms, spam pros, or submit automated requests
- pretend to be someone else
- use the site for illegal, abusive, or misleading activity
- copy or republish site content in a deceptive way
We may update this page from time to time as the service changes. Your continued use of the site means you accept the current version of these terms.
PoolSteward helps you find pool pros, but we do not do the work ourselves. Use the site to compare licensed, insured companies, verify their credentials yourself, get the scope and price in writing, and keep pool safety first at every step.
