Privacy policy
We keep this simple. PoolSteward is a **free matching service** for pool owners, not a pool service company, and we only ask for information we need to help you compare local licensed, insured pool pros.
What we collect
When you use PoolSteward, we may collect the details you choose to send us through forms, calls, or messages. This usually includes:
- Your name, phone number, email, and property ZIP code
- Basic pool details, like pool type, size, equipment issues, leak concerns, service history, or the kind of help you want
- Timing details, like when you want service or when someone can contact you
- General website data, such as pages visited, device type, browser, and approximate location from your IP address
We collect this so we can help with requests related to an existing pool you already own, such as weekly care, cleaning, water chemistry help, equipment repair, leak detection, resurfacing, renovation, openings, closings, and safety upgrades.
We do not need financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive records to match you. Please do not send them.
How we use your information
We use your information to run the service and respond to your request. That can include:
- Reviewing your request and contacting you about it
- Matching you with participating licensed and insured pool pros in your area
- Improving our forms, site pages, and customer support
- Preventing spam, fraud, and misuse of the site
- Sending helpful service-related follow-up messages
If you ask to be matched, we may share the details needed to help local pros understand the job. For example, that may include your contact details, location, and the pool problem you described. Matching is free to pool owners. Participating pros pay a flat fee to take part.
PoolSteward does not do pool work, handle chemicals, pull permits, or give construction, electrical, plumbing, chemical-safety, or legal advice. You should always verify license and insurance yourself and get the price and scope in writing before any deposit. If you want help finding someone, you can start at Get matched or read how to vet a pool service company.
When we share information
We do not sell your personal information like a data broker. We may share information in limited, practical situations:
- With participating pool pros when you ask to be matched
- With service providers that help us operate the website, forms, phone systems, analytics, or customer support
- If required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, users, or the public
- As part of a business transfer, such as a merger or asset sale, if allowed by law
We try to keep shared information limited to what is needed for the request. If you only browse the site, we may still use cookies or similar tools to understand traffic and improve pages like pool costs or service guides.
Your choices
You have options.
- You can choose not to submit a form
- You can ask us to stop contacting you
- You can ask what contact details we have for you, or request updates or deletion, subject to legal or operational limits
- You can control some cookie settings through your browser
If a pro contacts you after a match, you can tell that pro directly if you do not want more calls, texts, or emails. Since PoolSteward is a matching service, the fastest way to stop future outreach is often to contact both us and the pro.
For safety, never send pool chemical photos or equipment notes while standing near the water with children present. Drowning is fast and silent. Never leave a child unattended near water. Use layers of protection like fences, self-closing gates, alarms, covers, and active supervision. Follow local safety and building codes. For general safety reminders, see pool safety basics.
Data security and limits
We use reasonable steps to protect the information you send us, but no website, email, text message, or online storage system is perfectly secure. Because of that, please only send the pool and contact details needed for your request.
Our site may link to other pages and professionals may contact you after a match. Their privacy practices are their own, so review them before sharing extra details. If your concern involves water chemistry or equipment, remember that labels, manuals, and qualified pros matter. Never mix pool chemicals. Follow label directions. A qualified pro often doses more safely.
We may update this policy from time to time as our service changes. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page with the current policy terms.
We collect basic contact and pool details so we can help match you with local licensed, insured pool pros. We do not need sensitive financial or ID information, you can ask us to stop contact or delete data, and you should always verify a pro yourself before hiring.
